Clematis x ‘Sweet Summer Love’

'Sweet Summer Love' gives you everything you want: the flowers, the fragrance, the ease of growth and cranberry-violet blooms that start over a month earlier than others - starting in July in the midwest and northeast, and lasting until mid-September. It will add lots of drama to gardens when trained up a trellis or other support.

When Growing Clematis Remember the Following:

• "The first year they sleep, the second year they creep, and the third year they leap." 
• "Feet in the shade, head in the sun" - Plant this vine where the leaves get plenty of sunshine while the roots enjoy cool shade. 
• When planting clematis, it is important to plant it 3" deeper than it was in the original pot. Bury the first set of entire leaves to encourage the production of strong shoots from below soil level and to discourage clematis wilt.
